How to help save the tower
On February 21, 2023, the FAA informed staff at the Leesburg Executive Airport that they are canceling the Remote Tower Program. The program began in March 2015 and has been providing air traffic control (ATC) services continuously at the airport since June 2018 for 10 hours a day (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
Cancellation of the Remote Tower Program will end ATC services at the airport on June 14, 2023.
How you can help
Below is a template letter and contact information that you can send to the FAA and our federal legislative delegation to express your support for continued ATC services at Leesburg Executive Airport.
By not having a tower, or ATC services, we are creating a major safety risk for our pilots and community. We need to work together to keep our tower.
