Hello all and thanks to Gabe and the folks who make Smokehouse Pilots the awesome group that it is. I enjoy keeping up on the FB posts & pics. I'm a CFII/MEI based in Winchester, although I previously taught out of Leesburg in the late 90's. I own an RV-6 for my weekend adventures, but otherwise spend time building an RV-8. I'm a retired Navy submariner and still work in that field as a DoD Engineer. I look forward to meeting everyone.

That was my first in-person meeting! Great speaker! Normally I must wait until Oshkosh to get caught up on what’s happening at Vans. And...you might have scored an exclusive when he announced the RV-15 was soon to be revealed. We had a full house but I was surprised that only four or five of us were RV pilots. Oh well, I’m glad to see that certified aircraft are flourishing at JYO.
Awesome airplane! Thanks for joining us, John! There are a few other RV builders in our group too... just had Van's Aircraft two months ago as our speak out presenter!
